The Infant and Toddler Maine Early Learning and Development Standards (IT MELDS) are Maine’s written guidelines for infant and toddler learning and development. In this training, you will explore the Infant Toddler MELDS document and apply it to your work with children and families. Participants will explore the developmental domains of learning, observation and planning, and family and community engagement. Emphasis on the importance of caring and responsive relationships is woven throughout the training. This training includes: exploring online resources (documents, videos, audio, etc.); practicing new ideas in “real-life” situations; reflecting on what went well, and what could be done better; online discussions with the trainer and other participants; and optional Knowledge Extenders (extra resources) in some modules. This training is a required part of the Maine Infant Toddler Credential and may be required for other credentials.
